New players are priority in the acquisition of band H.
The current providers can only participate of this process IF there are no new players interested. In this case, the 10+10 MHz band width will divided into two 5+5 MHz band widths and auctioned as sub-bands. The proposals for this 5+5 MHz will be delivered with the others, but will be open only if there are no new players interested.
Regions
Banda H will be auctioned for the same regions in which Brazil was divided for 3G auction in 2007.
Coverage Commitments
The auction winners will have to fulfill the following commitments about covering Brazilian cities:
- Cities with more than 100 thousand inhabitants - 100% up to 60 months
- Between 30 and 100 thousand inhabitants – 50% up to 60 months
- With less than 30 thousand inhabitants - 15% up to 72 months
The city is considered as covered when the coverage area reaches at least 80% of the urban area.
