Net Serviços de Comunicação S.A. is a Pay TV operator (cable) that also offers Broad Band and Corporative network services. Globo with 61.9% of shareholder and Telmex (36.6%) are the Net controllers.
NET acquires BIGTV
NET anounced on December 21st of 2007 the acquisition of 100% of the stocks of the BIGTV holdings.
The opetator of pay TV BIGTV works in 12 cities, in the States São Paulo (Guarulhos, Valinhos, Botucatu, Jaú, Sertãozinho and Marília), Paraná (Ponta Grossa, Cascavel, Cianorte and Guarapuava), Alagoas (Maceió) and Paraíba (João Pessoa).
BIGTV has around 107 thousand Pay TV subscribers and 56 thousand subscribers connected to broadband Internet, with a network which covers 409 thousand homes with an extension of 3 thousand Km.
Net published on 06/19/08 with Banco Inbursa of Group Slim has loaned the total of
US$ 200 million which will be used in the payment of the BIGTV's acquisition. |
