TIM
Tim has coverage to National Cellular (SMP) in Brazil, consolidated through providers of Band A and B (TDMA and GSM) and GSM. These providers were consolidated in 2005 in Tim Participações.
Tim implanted a GSM network in the Bands A and B using the subband extension that that was gotten. It offered services of datas through its GSM network using technology
GPRS/EDGE Consult Teleco's section Cellular Technologies.
Tim also has authorization to provide services of Long National and International distance in the whole Brazil. (Operator Code: 41). telecom Itália also has a participation in Brasil Telecom. (More Details).
Jun/07 Tim got Anatel's authorization to provide local fixed telephony in Brazil. This authorization regularizes Tim Casa offer in 1Q07 which already had more than 400 thousand subscribers.

Tim Sales
TIM Participações S.A. published that in 11/06/06 the Board of Directors and its controller Telecom Italia S.p.A., according to recent acquisition proposal (not asked), authorization to the administration of Telecom Italia S.p.A. so will negotiate some of the activities of mobile telephony of the Group in Brazil, so the administration must report to the Board of Directors of Telecom Italia S.p.A. for some final decisions.
Telecom Italia's Board of Directors refused in 02/16/07 the offers received to the acquisition of Tim. The possibility of operator's sales is still, at least till April, when the advice comes back to congregate. |
