Results of TV Globo

 

Globo's revenue increased 12% in 2011.   Organizações Globo ended 2011 reporting billing of R$ 11 billion. The group, that controls Globo Network, ended the year holding total debt of US$ 588 million.   In 2011, EBITDA increased 20% over 2010 and reached R$ 2.8 billion. In the fourth quarter of 2011, the indicator jumped 35% in comparison with the same quarter of the previous year.   The cost of sales and services, excluding depreciation, grew 15% (R$ 231 million) over 4Q10. Administrative costs fell 9% (R$ 36 million).   The results, which doesn't include Infoglobo, gather Rede Globo de Televisão and the participations of the group inside the following companies: Net Serviços (6.35%), Endemol Globo (50%), Telecine (50%), USA Brasil Programadora (50%), PB Brasil (60%), GB Empreendimentos (17%), Canal Brasil S.A. (50%) and associated such as Sky Brasil.

 

Globo Comunicação e Participações, group of TV broadcasters and internet business which also work, through its subsidiaries and Pay TV, programming and printing, presented the following results in 2009:

Net Serviços de Comunicação was consolidated based on the percentage of Globo's participation, that was 7.2% in Dec/06 and 6.35% in Dec/07.

 

 

Renewal of Concessions

 

In Apr/08 were renewed, with the publication of five decrees in the Official Gazette of Union, the concessions that make up Globo Communicações e Participação Ltda. The renewal is for 15 years and validity retroactively to October 5, 2007. The process of concessions is now complete with the approval of acts of the government by the Congress.

 

The concessions in the capitals of the states of Minas Gerais, Distrito Federal, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, make up the biggest group of communications in the country, which through subsidiaries and associated lead the overall signal to the entire Brazilian territory.
