Certification and Homologation
Resolution nº 242 of Anatel (2000) established the Regulation for Certification and Homologation of Telecommunications Products that define the follwoing process:
The Certification of a product for telecommunications is done by independent companies, Organisms of Assigned Certification (ODC), that emit certified of conformity to be homologated by Anatel.
The necessary assays to the certification process are carried through by Assays Laboratories contracted by the supplier amongst those credential for the Inmetro, or recognized through Agreement of Mutual Recognition, according to regulations edited or the norms adopted by Anatel.

Products
The Product to Telecommunications are classified in 3 categories.
| I | Terminal equipments destined to the use of general public to telecommunications service access of collective interest. |
| II | Equipments not included in the definition of Category I, but use radioelectric spectrum signal transmission, including antennas and those characterized, in specific regulation, as equipments of radiocommunication of restricted radiation. |
| III | Any products or equipments that not fit in the definitions of the Categories I and II, whose regulation is necessary:
