Internet Users in Brazil

 

The following shows the number of Internet users in Brazil according to many sources.

* population of 10 years old or more which accessed the Internet, at least once, from computer, in some placel (home, work, school, free or paid access place, other people's house or any other placel) 90 days before the interview.

** total of people older than 16 years old with Internet access in any place.

 

 

Teleco adopts the PNAD as reference to the number of Internet users in Brazil and NIC BR which develops the TIC Domicílios survey for 2006 and 2007, when PNAD wasn't yet available.

 

 

73 million internet users in May/10 (ComScore)

According to ComScore's there were 73 million internet users in Brazil in May/10. The universe covered by this survey is bigger than by others, and includes people since 6 year old. From those, 40.7 were active in May 2010, 11.9% of them are between 6 and 14 years old and 56.1% are between 15 and 34 years old.

 

 

Internet users with access at residence and work place

 

Since March/2009, IBOPE Nielsen Online releases the number of users with internet accesses in the their homes and work place.

IBOPE/Net ratings monitores the number of internet home users in Brazil. The following table presents these datas.

According to this research on december 2005 there was 18.9 million users with access in their residences, 12.2 million accessed the Internet on december 2005.
