Total of Mobile Subscribers (Mar/14): 273.6 millions (preliminary data)

 

273.6 million mobile accesses in Mar/14

According to Anatel's preliminary data, Brazil started Mar/14 counting 273.6 million mobile accesses and 135.3 cell./100 inhab.

 

Mar/14 showed net adds of 860 thousand mobile accesses, it was inferior to Mar/13 (1,009 thousand).

 

Prepaid registered net adds of 123 thousand and postpaid registered addition of +737 thousand subscriptions.

 

Prepaid participation dropped to 77.57%.

GSM participation in the total of accesses reached the maximum of 90.16% in Nov/09 and, after that, it started fo fall. The drop in the participation happens because the number of GSM cell phones is increasing less then the number of WCDMA. WCDMA overtook CDMA in Feb/10.
