Bristish Telecom (BT) is the oldest telecommunication company of the world. Founded in 1846, as the first commercial telegraph service. It was privatized in 1982.

 

Nowadays British Telecom is one of the world leader providing solutions and services in telecommunications, operating in more than 170 countries. Its main activities are: IT services in net, local, nationals ans internationals telecommunications services, devices and services of broadband.

 

BT has four business lines: BT Global Services, Openreach, BT Retail and BT Wholesale.

BT in Latin America   British Telecommunications (BT) acquired Comsat one year ago, and announced, in Jully 3th, the results in the Latin America.   BT is divided in four business lines: BT Global Services, Openreach, BT Retail and BT Wholesale. Besides, there are two others operation branches to give support to the business lines: BT Design and BT Operate.   In the Latin American countries the company has, as main business line, the Global Services, which works with companies in the implementation and outsourcing of services in a worldwide level. In Jully/08 BT had 10 clients and more than 2 in implementation.   Brazil is one of the main centers of Global Sourcing in the world, as well as Indiana, Budapest and China.   In Latin America, BT operates in 22 countries with headquarters in: Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Central America, Peru, Venezuela and Brazil.   BT Global Services, acquired 29 companies in three years. One of them is Comsat, acquired in June 2007.
