The service of Fix Telephony Commuted ( STFC) in its local modality is given in Brazil by the following categories:
| Incumbents | Composed by companies of the system Telebras privatized in 1998 and Sercomtel. Has more obligation than the others. |
Authorization (CLECs) |
It Includes what is called "Mirror Companies", that received authorization in 1999, and others companies with STFC authorization, including incumbents outside their concession area.
Since 31st December 2001 there is no limit to the number of STFC operators. Embratel and GVT are the main companies . |
The regions ans sectors to concessions and authorizations of STFC were defined by Plano Geral de Outorgas (PGO) (in portuguese).
