VoIP Services Contracts

Apresentam-se. a seguir, algumas recomendações para a contratação de serviços de VoIP:

It's following below, some recommendations to contract VoIP services:

  1. Define the service objectives to be contracted and create a specification document.

Ex.: reduction of custs, update the infrastructure of voice services, adoption of advanced voice services, network convergence, and etc.

  2. Define the alternatives in case of total or partial new services fail

Ex.: it's important to include in the specification some requisites to provide alternatives of route and redundancy to the services that will be contracted. Optionally some of the conventional lines can be kept for eventual emergencies.

  3. Make a check out of the current situation of voice services and create a document with these results.
Ex.: number of existing lines, number of branches, cost of local linkings, long national and international distance, cost of linkings for cellular, cost of maintenance and update of the current system, etc.

  4. Define a research between operators of VoiP services and select at least 3 commercial proposals

Could be interesting to make a research with Anatel and agencies of protection to the consumer to know if the operators have problems with its licenses or its clients. A search with internet groups could be a good source of informations. Also be in contact with active clients of the selected companies.

  5. Analyzing the proposals, check out if all itens of its specification had been attended.
It's important to verify SLA (agreement of level service) intended versus the offered by the operator, delay parameter and loss of packages, local technical support, repair time, and etc.

  6. To define the operator, includes in the contract the services that will be provide and the main parameters negotiated to these services, beyond the cronograma of instalation.

It's important to include the parameters of SLA negotiated, and the time of repair and attendance, in case of maintenances or new performances.

  7. Make a periodic research with the users to follow the services provided.

It is important to know if the users perceive the benefits gotten with the new services and which are the eventual alterations or improvements necessary.

  8. Make a periodic accompaniment of service provided, checking out its performance index.
It's important to check out if its intended objectives have been attended and request, whenever it is necessary, that the contracted operator makes some adjustments. It also uses its research results if the users satisfaction need it.

  9. Renewing the contract of service provided, check out the market conditions.

It's interesting to check out the possibility of new functionalities or technologies, or modify costs because of market conditions. Scale profits or reduction of networks and tariffs can be reevaluation of costs.

  10. In extreme cases of not contracted services fulfilment, claims can be sent to Anatel or Agencies of Protection of the Consumer .
