| Commentary |
Revenues counted US$41 billion in 2009, increasing 1.8% from US$ 40.3 billion in 2008.
Mobile telephone services presented the highest growth among all the sectors of the telecommunication industry, and now answer for 40% of all revenues.
Cellular revenues increased 5.3%, from US$ 16 billion inn 2008 to US$ 16.9 billion in 2009. Source: CRTC |

Fixed Telephony Operators
The main Local Fixed Telephony operator in Canada is Bell Canada which controls most of the incumbents.
In 06/30/07, was accomplished one of the biggest operations in the world. The bigger telecom canadian company, BCE (Bell Canadá) accepted a purchase proposal of C$51.7 billions (R$48.5 billions) from investors led by canadian pension fund Teachers.

Canada is one among few countries in the world where the quantity of fixed telephones in service is bigger than the cellular number.
