Commentary

Since it was acquired by Softbank, the former Vodafone Japan is presenting increasing net adds. Softbank is the main broadband provider in Japan and one of the controlers of Yahoo Japan. One of Softbank's slogans is "make your cellular an Internet machine".

Softbank's growth can be attributed to an aggressive posture with new service plans which introduced a war of prices in the market. New government policies to increase competitiveness, like the introduction of number portability in Oct/06, also helped.
