Commentary

In Dec/06 Anacom held a research about the use of cell phones which presented the following results: 14.9% of the cell phone users have 2 cellulars (Sim cards) active. 2.5% of the users have 3 or more cell phones (Sim cards). There are cell phones (sim cards) used to services of data and access to the internet and associated to equipments in applications of automation.

Portugal Telecom is the main fixed telephony operator. In december 2006 it had 3,317 fixed accesses in service (retail).

 

In the end of 2006 there was 22 authorized providers of fixed telephone service, in which 13 were active.
