According to Strategy Analytics tablets sales reached 26.8 million units in 4Q11.
The results gotten show that Apple kept the first position due to its impressive 57.6% of participation in the global market in 4Q11, but the company fell from a peak of 95% (registered in 3Q10), as a result of the competition with Android.
In 4Q11, Android jumped to a record market share of 39.1%.
Dozens of Android models were distributes in many countries by many brands such as Amazon, Samsung, Asus and others.
In 2011, 68.9 million units were sold, an increase of 270.0% over 2010 when 18.6 million tablets were sold.
