Prices and Fixed Telephony Rates (STFC)
Content of this page: Prices and rates structure of local fixed tellephony and long distance. Interconnection rates, unbundling and others. |
Local Telephony
Most of the telephones (residentials or note) use concessionaires basic plan service of STFC. This plan defines values authorization, monthly signature and local pulse.
The cost of a local telephonic call is measure in pulses and varies according to the day of the week and calling time.

STFC contracts of concession , from january 2006, previously see a replace of pulse to minute as a unit of local call rates, as an example of what already happens with local calls of authorized companies STFC, calls of long distance and cellular. The subscribers of these plans are changing to plans per minutes ( Basic or PASOO) between March and July 2007. (Pulse to minute)

Charge of Subscribers Signature
On 06/25/08 STJ (Suprime Justice), decided about the charge of sugnature in fixed telephony, through Summary 356: "It is legitimate to charge for basic rate for the use of fixed telephony services.."
At the same session also adopted the Summary 357: "At the request of the subscriber, which respond to costs, is mandatory as from January 1st, 2006, the breakdown of pulses surpluses and fixed telephony connections for mobile."
Both are overviews binding.

Local Telephony Rates
The value of TUP (public telephone use) unit rate in July/08 R$ 0.1215, with taxes, only value to the whole country.

Local Telephony Rates until Jul/08
The value of unit rate of TUP (public telephone use) in July/07 was established in R$ 0.1185, with taxes, only price to national territory.
Despite being approved in 07/17/07, the values of minute following presented has started to work in 10/01/07, due to an agreement between concessionaires and Anatel (regulator agency). This action was taken to avoid a readjustment in the same period of the arrival of the first users' bill charged in minutes.

AICE
From 07/01/2006 the Acesso Individual Classe Especial ( AICE) has been offered to 32 cities with more than 500 thousand inhabitants what correspond to 25% of the population. the cities are:
Belo Horizonte, Belém, Brasília, Campinas, Campo Grande, Contagem, Cuiabá, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Goiânia, Guarulhos, Jaboatão dos Guararapes, João Pessoa, Maceió, Manaus, Natal, Osasco, Nova Iguaçu, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Santo André, São Bernardo do Campo, São Gonçalo São José dos Campos, São Luís, São Paulo, Sorocaba, Ribeirão Preto, Teresina e Uberlândia.
AICE is a new pre-paid service modality that will have obligated offer as the basic service plan, to exclusively residential use and limited home access. AICE signature will cost 50% less than basic residential plan signature . AICE's local call will have less value than the actual one, increased 2 minutes of attendance tax. AICE doesn't have surmounting and hour modulation.
