Apple beat on iPhone 4S sales to reinforce the results in the fourth quarter of 2010 and resume the leadership in smartphone sales.

In 4Q11, the company increased its sales in 128.2% if compared with the same period of the previous year. On the other hand iPod dropped 20.8% in comparison with 4Q10.

Apple reported record quarter revenue of US$ 46.33 billion and net profit of US$ 13.06 billion, in face of the billing of US$ 26.74 billion and net profit of US$ 6.0 billion gotten one year ago.

Three days after the launch of iPhone 4S, which happened on October 14th/2011, Apple announced that 4 million units were already sold, more than the double of units sold by the previous iPhone generation.
