Motorola in 4Q11

In 2011, Motorola announced seventeen new smartphones and three tables that received many complements. By this, the company is getting constant growth in sales.

In 4Q11, 10.5 million mobile devices were sold, dropping 9.5% in the quarter.

From these devices 5.3 million were smartphone and 200 thousand were tablets, while in the previous quarter 4.8 million smartphones and 100 thousand tablets were sold.

Mobile devices revenue hit US$ 2,5 bilhões in 4Q11, feeling the impact of competition, growth of 4.9% over 4Q10.

On August 15th 2011, Motorola Mobility and Google announced a deal so Google would acquire Motorola Mobility. The business was approved by the administration board of both companies. Motorola Mobility expects the business will be set in the beginning of 2012.

Motorola in 2011

The company sold a total of 42.4 million mobile handsets in the year. It includes 18.7 million smartphones and 1 million tablets sold in 2011.

Net rrevenue reached US$ 13.1 billion, increasing 14% over 2010. Net loss also increased to US$ 249 milhões em comparação com uma perda de US$ 86,0 milhões em 2010.
