TIM is the only operator to gain market share in 2011
TIM was the only operator that gained cellular market share in Brazil in 2011, overtaking Claro and consolidating itself in the second position in the m. share ranking, behind Vivo only.

TIM was the net adds leader in December and in the accumulated along the year, followed by Vivo, Claro and Oi, that lost respectively 0.2, 0.5 and 0.6 percentage points of market share in 2011.

By the growth inside prepaid market, TIM reached the leadership in mobile net adds of 2012.
Infinity Plan (prepaid), with on net and long distance calls costing R$ 0.25, was the main responsible for TIM's success in 2011. With this plan, TIM got to reduce the difference which separates it from Vivo from 4.1 million prepaid accesses in 2010 to 660 thousand in the end of 2011. The adoption of similar plans by Claro and Vivo wasn't enough to avoid TIM's performance.
TIM was the only operator to gain market share inside the prepaid segment in 2011.
