Mobile operators privatized in 1998 are leaders inside 7 from the 10 SMC areas
In 1998, Brazil was shared into 10 areas for Cellular Mobile Service ("Serviço Móvel Celular - SMC) delivery. Fourteen years later operators of Band A are still leaders in seven from ten areas, Band B carriers lead in two areas and TIM, third company to break into the market in area 1 (area code 11), just conquered the leadership from Vivo (Band A).
