Vivo led mobile growth in August registering net adds of 489 thousand mobile accesses, followed by Claro (435 thousands), TIM (246 thousands) and Oi 227 thousands.
Net adds of Vivo, Claro and Oi presented an increasing performance in the last two months what drove to record in month net adds in 2013 (August it reached 1,441 thousands).
This recovery is happening inside the prepaid, since postpaid net adds have been kept stable since March.
Claro and Oi led prepaid net adds in August with more than the double of net adds presented in July.
TIM kept the oscillating behavior in prepaid net adds as observed in the previous commentary (consult).
Vivo seems to have ended the transition to the new rules to turn off inactive prepaid accesses. The negative net additions in this segment now must to be attributed to Vivo's effort in promoting clients migration from prepaid to postpaid controlled plans.
In the last three months Vivo kept the leadership in postpaid net adds, as happened in the last 12 months.
TIM is in the second position. Claro and Oi have presented low growth inside this segment.
Vivo's result, the leadership in net adds of 4G accesses and M2M and 3G data terminals collaborated for this result.
