Which operator wil lead mobile telephony in Christmas?

There isn't a favorite to become the leader in cellular growth in Christmas 2013.

The adds net of each carrier will be affected by the policy of disconnectiing inactive prepaid accesses adopted for each one of these operators.

December is the month of reference for the annual payment of the Inspection Fee (FISTEL), which costs R$ 13,42 by each one of the active mobile accesses operated by the carrier.

In the 2012's Christmas, postpaid net adds overtook prepaid for the first time, this performance is likely to be repeated during 2013's Christmas. Postpaid accumulated 7.6 million net adds from January to November/2013, against 1.1 million prepaid accesses.

Vivo is the favorite to lead Christmas postpaid growth. The company was the net adds leader inside this segment in all the months of 2013 and in the Christmas of 2012 and 2011.

On the other hand, Claro led prepaid net adds in the first 10 months of the year and TIM was the leader in the total of net adds accumulated in this period.

When this commentary was writen, Anatel hadn't puclished detailed information about cellulars in Nov/13. The prepaid negative net adds gotten in Nov/13 (-86 thousand) reinforced though the trend of low growth in prepaid for this Christmas.
