Prepaid segment had bigger growth than postpaid in August
Anatel's preliminary data indicate that Brazil ended Aug/14 counting 277.3 million mobile accesses.
Differently of the previous months, prepaid net adds (629 thousand prepaid accesses) overtook the net adds registered by the postpaid segment (480 thousands) in August.

Prepaid segment has alternated positive and negative net adds in 2014. The positive net adds gotten in August (2nd quarter of the month) will hardly be repeated in September.
In the accumulated in the first eight months of the year, postpaid presented net adds almost four times bigger than prepaid. These net adds were a bit smaller than the ones presented in the same period of 2013.

The smaller prepaid growth has led to a drop in its participation in the total of mobile accesses in the country.

Inside prepaid segment, TIM and Oi are leading growth in 2014. Vivo and Claro showed negative net adds in the first seven months of the year.
