Prepaid growth in 2014
Anatel's preliminary data indicates that Brazil ended 2014 counting 212.9 million prepaid mobile accesses.
The growth in the year (0.6%) was slightly superior to 2013 (0.3%).

By this result, prepaid participation in the total of mobile accesses in Brazil dropped from 82.5% in 2009 to 75.8% in 2014.

The aspects that contributed to the fall in prepaid growth inside the brazilian market are:
TIM led prepaid growth in 2014 with net adds (2.1 million accesses), superior to the ones presented in 2013 (1.5 million accesses).

Claro, which had led prepaid growth in 2013, reduced the growth pace in 2014, promoting an adjustment in its base. Oi presented similar behavior.
Vivo, which has a more restrict policy to turn oss inactive prepaid accesses, continued to show negative net adds inside prepaid segment, even though the figures are inferior to the ones gotten in the previous year: 3.8 million in 2013 and 2 million in 2014.
