Vivo and Claro are the mobile leaders by Technology
Vivo leads 2G, 4G and broadband terminals. Claro is the leader in 3G and M2M.

Brazil ended July/2015 counting 281.5 million mobile accesses, being:
3G technology overtook 2G (GSM) in 2014. In Jul/15, it had already the double of 2G mobile accesses.

3G mobile accesses already overtook 2G technology inside the four main carriers operating in Brazil, being Claro the most advanced company in this process.

Claro is the leader in 3G and the fourth in 2G. Vivo leads 2G and 4G.
Vivo also leads broadband terminals (modems and other devices). The base of this type of terminal presented reduction of 11.8% in the last 12 months.

Claro leads M2M terminals (4.1 million), followed by Vivo (4.0 million) and by Oi (1.2 million). M2M terminals had growth of 7.6% in the last 12 months.
Anatel classified terminals as special M2M and M2M terminals in which communication happens without human intervention. Special M2M will pay reduced Fistel tax rates. In Jul/15, 2.4 million terminals were classified as special M2M by Anatel.
