Vivo, Claro and TIM were growth leaders in 1Q16
2016 started with smaller growth in comparison to what was presented in 2015, except for 4G mobile accesses which registered net adds of 7.1 million against 2.6 million in 1Q15. The oether services presented smaller growth in this period.

Vivo was the leader in 4G net adds, Claro led postpaid and fixed broadband. TIM was first in prepaid.
4G in 1Q16
4G accelerated its growth in 2016 with net adds in the month reaching 7.1 million mobile accesses in the quarter. The other technologies continue to lose accesses. In 1Q16, 3G presented net adds of -3.6 million mobile accesses and 2G of -3.3 million.
All the operators registered growth in net adds in 1Q16 in comparison with 1Q15.

Vivo led growth by holding 2.2 million net adds in 4G mobile accesses, followed by TIM (2 million), Claro (1.7million) and Oi (1.1 million).
Postpaid in 1Q16
postpaid presented drop in net adds in 1Q16 (444 thousand), when compared with 1Q15 (1.7 million). This fall occurred in all the operators.

Claro was the leader in portapid net adds (219 thousand), followed by Vivo (185 thousand) and by Oi (111 thousand).
Fixed Broadband
Fixed broadband also showed fall in net adds in 1Q16 (293 thousand), when compared with 1Q15 (512 thousand). This fall occurred mainly in Claro's net adds (Embratel/Net) and smaller operators.

Despite the drop, Claro led net adds (82 thousand), followed by Vivo (79 thousand).
Prepaid
Prepaid segment, which had already shown low growth in 1Q15 (+1 thousand), presented negative net adds in 1Q16 (-185 thousand). TIM was the only carrier to present positive net adds in the quarter.

Differently of poaidpaid and fixed broadband, in which the drop of the growth can be attributed to the economic crisis. In prepaid, the abandonment of the second chip, due to a more intensive use of messages, is the main cause of negative net adds.
