Who are the competitive operators of Fixed Broadband?
Fixed broadband competitive operators ended 2017 counting 5.9 million accesses (20.6% of the total) and were responsible for 81% of the fixed broadband net additions registered in the year. All SCM providers are considered competitive except for the leaders in this segment (Claro, Vivo and Oi).
The great majority of these providers operates in residential market and in small to medium-sized companies. There are, however, providers with a greater focus on the corporate market or the wholesale transportation market and metropolitan networks.

It is important to emphasize that the number of fixed broadband accesses provided by competitive operators are, in reality, higher than those reported for Anatel. Many of these providers don’t report their accesses monthly.
If we add, for example, the accesses of SCM providers that reported accesses in Nov/ 17, but didn’t do so in Dec/17, the number of Brazilian fixed broadband accesses in 2017 would have increased by 298 thousand accesses.
