Mobile leaders in 3Q19
Vivo was the leader in 9 (nine) of the twelve mobile indicators followed by Teleco in the 3rd quarter of 2019 (3Q19). Claro led in two indicators and TIM in one.
In 2007, Teleco started to monitor the performance of mobile operators in Brazil measured by indicators, which are reviewed annually from 2014. In 2019 a new indicator was introduced, postpaid growth without M2M.

1) Mobile Market Share: Vivo amplifies the leadership
Vivo, the largest mobile operator of Brazil, ended 3Q19 with 73.8 million mobile accesses and continues to gain market share.

2) Prepaid Market Share: TIM keeps the leadership
TIM (27.4%) maintained its leadership in prepaid market share in 3Q19. Claro (24.8%) continues to lose market share and is in the 3rd position, behind Vivo (25.9%).

3) Postpaid Market Share: Vivo keeps the leadership
Vivo maintained its postpaid leadership (39.7%), but has gradually been losing market share in the year. Claro gained market share by leading postpaid net adds in the quarter (+928 thousand accesses).

4) Mobile Growth: Vivo led net additions in the quarter
Vivo was the mobile growth leader in 3Q19 holding net adds of 88 thousand accesses. TIM continues to present losses (444 thousand accesses).

Postpaid net adds are driven by the migration from prepaid to postpaid control plans and the growth of M2M terminals.
5) Postpaid growth without M2M: Claro leads in the quarter
Claro led in postpaid net adds without M2M (660 thousand), followed by Oi (426 thousand). TIM presented negative growth (-290 thousand).

Most of this growth is from prepaid users who have migrated to control plans.
6) Market Share 4G: Vivo leads
Vivo is the 4G market share leader, followed by TIM, which is losing market stake.

The tendency points that Claro will gain 4G market share, as it is 2nd in mobile market share. Vivo led 4G net adds (1.6 million), followed by Claro (1.5 million), TIM (0.9 million) and Oi (0.6 million).
7) M2M Market Share: Vivo leads
Vivo is the leader in M2M terminal market share, followed by Claro. TIM increased its market share to 15.7% in 2Q19, due to the incorporation of Porto Seguro Conecta (MVNO). Oi continues at a lower level.

Vivo led M2M net adds in the quarter (353 thousand accesses), followed by Claro (268 thousand) and Oi (87 thousand). Most of these net additions are from standard terminals (credit card machines) and not from IoT.

8) Net Revenue: Vivo in the leadership
Vivo remained in the leadership with total net revenue of R$ 7.2 billion in 3Q19.

Vivo led in covered population in 3Q19, thanks to its 3G coverage, available to 95.5% of the population. Claro leads in 2G (93.4%) and TIM in 4G (89.7%).
