Telecom Leaders in Brazil in 2020
The list of Telecom leaders in Brazil in 2020 presented a situation of greater balance with Vivo and Claro leading in two indicators each. Algar, Competitive providers, Oi and TIM led one each.

In the 1st quarter of 2011 Teleco started monitoring the performance of Telecom Groups in Brazil through selected indicators. The results for each indicator are presented below. This analysis includes operators or groups that had net revenues in excess of R$ 2 billion in the country in 2020.
1) Revenue: Vivo is the leader
Vivo led net revenue with R$ 43.1 billion in 2020, followed by Claro.

Vivo is the mobile revenue leader (R$ 28.4 billion) and Claro led fixed services revenue (R$ 21.4 billion).
2) Revenue Growth: Algar is the leader
Algar led net revenue growth (10.5%), followed by Claro (1.6%).

Note: Sky wasn't included in this comparison because its revenue was estimated by Teleco.
TIM, Vivo and Oi presented negative growth.
3) Mobile: Vivo leads Market Share and Revenue
Vivo, the leader in mobile market share in Brazil, gained m. share but Claro (27.2%) presented higher net adds in the year. TIM and Oi lost market share.

Vivo is also the leader in mobile net revenue. Claro, with the incorporation of Nextel, surpassed TIM in mobile net revenue in 2020.

4) Fixed: Claro is the leader in Market share and Revenue
Claro is the leader in fixed services market share with a total of 25.8 million accesses in 2020. Competitive providers started to occupy the second place in fixed access market share, ahead of Oi and Vivo.

Note: TIM and Algar were included in the Competitive Markets for having a market share of less than 5% in fixed services.
Claro is the leader in net revenue of fixed services with R$ 21.4 billion, but it presented a negative growth of 4.5% in 2020, together with Vivo and Oi. Competitive providers conquered the second place.

5) Fixed Broadband Market Share: Competitive Providers
Competitive products stood out in fixed broadband market share in 2020 with 15.0 million accesses and increased the advantage over the others.

Note: Competitive are all operators, except Claro, Vivo and Oi. Algar and TIM were included in the competitive group because they have a market share below 5% in fixed broadband.
6) Pay TV Market Share: Claro
Claro, despite losing market share in 2020, continued to lead Pay TV by counting 7.0 million subscribers and 47.1% market share.

7) Fixed Telephony Market Share: Oi leads
Oi led fixed telephony market share with 9.4 million fixed telephones in 2020. Vivo and Claro compete for the second position in market share.

8) Profitability: TIM leads EBITDA Margin
TIM maintained leadership in EBITDA margin, followed by Algar.

With the exception of Algar, the other operators continued to show growth in their EBITDA margin in 2020.
