In the 1st quarter of 2011, Teleco began monitoring the performance of Telecom Groups in Brazil through selected indicators. The results for each indicator are presented below. Included in this analysis were the operators or groups that had net revenue greater than R$ 2 billion in the country in 2020.

1) Revenue: Vivo is the leader

Vivo led net revenue reaching R$ 10.6 billion in 2Q21, followed by Claro (R$ 9.7 billion).

Note: Competitives include all the operators, except Claro, Vivo and Oi. In this graphic, Competitives revenue doesn't include the revenue from Algar, TIM and SKY.

Vivo is the leader in mobile revenue (R$ 7.0 billion) and Claro in fixed services revenue (R$ 5.0 billion).

Fixed broadband Competitives (without Algar, TIM and SKY) occupy the 3rd place followed by TIM and Oi, which without their mobile and DTH operations (discontinued operations) would have R$2.2 billion in net revenue.

2) Revenue Growth: Competitives lead

Fixed broadband Competitives (without Algar, TIM and SKY) led the growth in net revenue (36.3%) in 2Q21/2Q20, followed by TIM (10.5%), Algar (5.0%) and Vivo (3.2%). Oi had negative growth.

Note: Competitives include all the operators, except Claro, Vivo and Oi. In this graphic, Competitives revenue doesn't include the revenue from Algar, TIM and SKY.

3) Mobile: Vivo is the leader in Market Share and Revenue

Vivo is the leader in mobile market share in Brazil. Claro (27.6%) presented the highest net additions (1.7 million) in 2Q21. TIM continues to lose market share.

Vivo also leads in mobile net revenue. Claro, with the incorporation of Nextel, passed to TIM and consolidated itself in the second position.

4) Fixed: Claro leads Market share and Revenue

Claro is the leader in fixed services market share with a total of 25.2 million accesses in 2Q21. Competitive companies rank second in market share of fixed accesses, ahead of Oi and Vivo. Oi competes with Vivo for the third position.

Note: TIM and Algar were included as Competitives due to having market share smaller than 5% in fixed services.

Claro led net revenue from fixed services in 2Q21 with R$ 5.1 billion, closely followed by Fixed Broadband Competitives (without Algar, TIM and SKY). Vivo occupies the third position.

Note: Competitives include all the operators, except Claro, Vivo and Oi. In this graphic, Competitives revenue doesn't include the revenue from Algar, TIM and SKY.

5) Fixed Broadband Market Share: Competitives

Competitives led in fixed broadband market share with 17.0 million accesses in May 2021. The number of accesses in June was not considered as it was underreported. 6,534 providers reported accesses to Anatel in May, but 5,951 did it in June.

Note: Competitives include all operators, except Claro, Vivo and Oi. In 2Q21 it considered accesses reported in May for Competitives.

6) Pay TV Market Share: Claro

Claro maintained its leadership in pay TV in 2Q21 with 6.5 million subscribers and has been maintaining its market share.

7) Fixed Telephony Market Share: Oi leads

Oi maintained its leadership in fixed telephony market share with 9.1 million fixed telephones in 2Q21, despite losing market share. Claro consolidated itself in the second position ahead of Vivo, which has been losing its market share sharply.

8) Profitability: TIM is the leader in EBITDA Margin

TIM kept the leadership in EBITDA margin in 2Q21, Algar kept the second position and Claro surpassed Vivo, conquering the third place.

Note: It considers routine or normalized EBITDA Margin. SKY doesn't report this indicator.

Oi once again increased the EBITDA margin, returning to the same level as in 2Q20.
