Digicel plans to launch an IPO on the New York Stock Exchange |
The operator has filed documents to the regulator in the United States, SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) planning to launch IPO (Initial Public Offering) on the New York Stock Exchange, the operator's objective is to reach revenues of US$ 200 million. JP Morgan, Citigroup and UBS Investment Bank will manage the share sale. The number of shares offered has not yet been established. |
Digicel operates in 31 markets in the Caribbean and South Pacific.
Digicel sold Digicel Honduras to America Movil, and in exchange it acquired the Claro Jamaica business. Concluded on November 30th, 2011.
In September 2006, Digicel acquired Digicel Holdings Ltda. (another company despite having the same name) that operated in El Salvador and had a license to operate in Guatemala.
