Satellite Communication in Brazil

What are "Communications Satellites"?
They are satellites placed in orbit of the earth with the mission of transporting repeaters of telecommunications signals.
Communication between Telecommunication Stations located at two points on earth (Earth Stations) can be established if both stations are aimed directly at the satellite.
Satellites can carry several repeaters, also called tranponders. They may also have different antennas and frequencies.

The Polarization to uplink is vertical and to downlink is horizontal. (Act 66,458 from 08/14/07)
Other types of Satellites
There are also satellites in medium orbits (MEOS), from 8 to 20 thousand km of altitude, and in low orbits (LEOS), from 500m to 3 thousand km of altitude. These satellites have elliptical orbits and move in relation to the earth, which implies the use of mobile antennas or lower frequencies. These satellites have been used in mobile communications as they allow the use of transmission power terminals as they are closer to the earth.
Regulation
The communications satellite is not a communications service. It is used as a means of transporting telecom signals by providers that have licenses to provide telecommunications services such as:
For a satellite to be used by a telecom service provider in Brazil, Anatel must grant it the right to explore Brazilian or foreign satellite. The Brazilian satellite is one that occupies an orbital position allocated by the ITU to Brazil. The table below shows the regulations for this process.
